Since the advent of Chat GPT, there has been much controversy over its use or sanction in university reading-writing liberal arts subjects. The goal of college reading-writing liberal arts courses for adult learners is to develop creative thinking and critical skills, and to write logical and novel essays based on them. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on the connection between perceptions of Chat GPT among freshmen at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and college reading-writing liberal arts subjects, and then a curriculum management plan that uses Chat GPT was prepared based on the survey results. Accordingly, ‘prompt creators’ and ‘summary and central word search’ required for reading-writing liberal arts activities were suggested according to the nature of the text. In addition, the creativity of Chat GPT, limitations related to the plagiarism of works, and the need to suggest solutions were also raised, and a plan to utilize Chat GPT in the writing process was sought. By presenting the ‘writing of experience’ and ‘ethics of writing footnotes and references’, it is expected that practical guidelines for the use of Chat GPT in universities will be provided in the future.
