- 한국 한시의 리듬 연구 - 김삿갓 희작시의 프로조디 분석 - -
본고는 한국 한시에서 독특한 위상을 점유하고 있는 김삿갓 한시 작품 들을 대상으로 현대시의 분석 이론인 앙리 메쇼닉의 프로조디 기법을 적 용하여 한시의 새로운 미감을 드러내는 데 목적이 있다. 한시는 오랫동안 체계화된 작법에 따라 엄격한 격률을 요구하는 장르이다. 후대 이중 언어 환경이 자리매김하면서 김삿갓을 필두로 한시 내에서도 정형성을 탈피하 여 우리말의 감각을 활용한 새로운 시도들이 있었으나, 한국 한시사에서 이러한 작품들은 일명 ‘파격시’, ‘희작시’ 등으로 제한적인 위상을 지녀왔 다. 반면 본고에서는 최근 현대시의 리듬 분석에 활용되는 프로조디 기법 을 활용하여 이 같은 현상들에 대해 ‘우리말의 침투’라는 양상 속에서 보 다 적극적인 의미를 도출해보고자 한다. 현대 리듬 시학을 체계화한 앙리 메쇼닉에 따르면 리듬은 단순히 어떤 소리의 규칙성이나 패턴으로 한정 되지 않고 ‘의미-형식’ 자체로 이해되며, 프로조디는 리듬과 더불어 시의 ‘언표에 관여하는 핵심 요소’로서, 분석의 주요한 대상이 된다. 이에 따라 김삿갓 희작시 가운데 상대적으로 장르적 파격과 구어의 개입이 활발히 엿보이는 작품들을 대상으로 하여, 텍스트에서 일정하게 반복되며 계열을 형성하거나 조직되는 음운 체계를 중심으로 리듬을 분석하였으며, 그것이 텍스트의 의미와 어떻게 상호 관계를 맺는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 프로조 디는 시적 상황과 정서, 텍스트 차원의 주제의식과 무관하게 조직되지 않 았으며, 오히려 내용적 의미를 보완하거나 강화하는 방향으로 일정한 기 능을 수행하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 방식의 접근은 제한적이 기는 하나 한시를 새로운 방식으로 분석한 시도라는 점, 이를 통해 규격 외를 내포하는 종래의 전제에서 벗어나 개성적 의미를 부여하고자 한 점, 그간 저평가되어 왔던 한시 작가 · 작품들 가운데 음성적 측면에서 가치 재고의 가능성을 열어둔 점 등에서 소기의 의의를 부여할 수 있다.
The Rhythm of Sino-Korean Poetry (Korean Hansi) : A Prosodic Analysis of Kim Sat-gat’s Burlesque Poetry
This study delves into the rhythmic aspects of Korean classical poetry, specifically focusing on the burlesque poems of Kim Sat-gat. Utilizing Henri Meschonnic’s prosodic analysis, this paper aims to unravel the distinctive aesthetic nuances embedded in these works. With the advent of a diaglossic environment, led by poets like Kim Sat-gat, there were attempts to break away from Sino-Korean poetry’s formal constraints and explore new linguistic possibilities, However, in Korean literary history Kim’s innovative works have often been confined to a limited category, labeled as “irregularity” or “burlesque poetry.” In contrast, this paper seeks to extract a more proactive interpretation of Kim’s burlesque poetry by employing Meschonnic’s prosody technique of rhythmic analysis. The analysis in this paper focuses on works within Kim Sat-gat’s burlesque poetry where there is a noticeable departure from traditional genres and a vibrant incorporation of colloquial language. The rhythmic elements are scrutinized, emphasizing the phonological systems that consistently repeat or organize within the text. The findings reveal that prosody in these texts is not contingent on thematic consciousness or emotions; instead, it seems to be directed towards complementing or reinforcing the substantive meaning of the text. While this approach has its limitations, it represents a meaningful endeavor to analyze Hansi in a novel manner.
